I’ve used a vacuum form from the head to cut pieces out of and stick them back in place to make the details. The main eye parts are 3D printed:

I’ve fitted four main lights in the head – one red LED in the main eye, the circle below it, the holo-projector, and the logic panel:

These are controlled on a sequence when a tilt switch is triggered when the head is tilted back and spun. I’ve used an Adafruit Gemma Arduino to read the tilt switch and control the RGB Neopixel LEDs:

This is powered by a USB boost adapter, so it’s easy to charge and manage.
